The Challenge
Cast yourself back to 2020 and the middle of the pandemic. Even when hotels were back open for business travel there was a reluctance from some people to be staying in the centre of Dublin city. The images of army tents set up along the river Liffey were still fresh in people’s minds.
Story Clarity has done some work with Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in the past so they contacted us with the vision of showcasing the spacious surrounds and perfect public amenities within walking distance of the castle.
The jewel in their crown as they were NOT in the city and people could get out into nature and fresh air with reasonable ease if they chose to stay in Killiney rather than the city.
The Solution
We decided to shoot the content over 2 days due to the type of footage needed and based on the location of the sun. For some of the aerial photography, we arrived before sunrise to be able to set up and capture a wonderful sunrise behind the hotel as it broke on the horizon beyond Dalkey island in the Irish sea.
For the video, we visited some of the well-known locations to capture the areas surrounding the hotel that we felt showcased the reasons to stay in this locality rather than closer to the congested city.
The Impact
We provided video content in various sizes for each of the client’s social media channels and also for the hero video on their website. We also shot a new set of aerial photography images for them. The fact that the Hotel was still closed at this stage off lockdown also meant they could invest in some new aerial photography, knowing that the car park was empty and bright summer days created the perfect opportunity to get those hero shots for them
Because they acted fast and Story Clarity was able to deliver within a quick turnaround, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel had new content to push to market weeks before the restrictions were lifted and it gave them a head start in marketing to business clients who were allowed to stay in hotels during the lockdown.
